Joel rubin
found out that dolphins were being slaughtered to catch tuna. The large multi-national corporations didn't care about killing dolphins to catch tuna because they made a lot of money with tuna sales. Joel decided to rally his classmates to send letters to the large corporations to get them to change their method of tuna fishing. He felt strongly about this because he cares about dolphins and was disgusted by the meaningless slaughter of the dolphins. Because of his work tuna companies who fish for tuna without killing dolphines have a dolphin safe logo on their tuna cans.
I believe he was kind of successful because some multi-national corporations use the logo on their tuna; however, some people don't know to buy only tuna with this logo. Also, some tuna companies can still catch tuna by using dolphins. They just can't use the logo.
